From our beginnings to today, Khushi has evolved around one purpose: bringing evidence-based fertility and women’s healthcare together with clarity, compassion and individual attention.
Long before Khushi Fertility & IVF Centre was established, the values that define it were already taking shape through a strong family legacy in women’s healthcare. Dr Rashmi Yogish grew up in an environment where obstetrics, gynaecology and patient care were not just professions, but a way of life.
She was the youngest daughter of Dr Annapurna, and was deeply influenced by a household rooted in medical service. Surrounded by her mother and sisters in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, she developed an early and lasting interest in medicine, women’s health and reproductive care.
Over time, this foundation evolved into a clear purpose. Witnessing the emotional and clinical challenges faced by infertility patients inspired Dr Rashmi Yogish to dedicate herself to reproductive medicine and fertility care, with the goal of helping more women and couples move closer to parenthood.
After graduating in medicine from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, Dr Annapurna returned to Gulbarga and established Annapurna Maternity Home in 1962. Over the decades, it became a longstanding maternity centre in the city, creating a legacy of women’s healthcare that would later influence Khushi.
From Annapurna Maternity Home to the beginning of Khushi’s own chapter.
Dr Annapurna’s medical journey began in 1956. After training in medicine and obstetrics and gynaecology, she returned to Gulbarga and established her maternity practice in 1962 — beginning a long chapter in women’s healthcare that would later become part of the story behind Khushi.
Dr Rashmi grew up around patients, deliveries and surgeries. Watching her mother and sisters work in women’s healthcare gave her an early understanding of medicine as part of everyday life.
Dr Rashmi recalls that Dr Annapurna began her medical journey in 1956. When circumstances interrupted her initial path, she returned with the determination to continue her education and later pursue further training in obstetrics and gynaecology.
Dr Annapurna continued her medical education while also managing significant family responsibilities. Her determination to complete her training reflects the discipline and perseverance that would remain central to her life and medical career.
Even after the original maternity home was no longer there, its memory remained connected with the neighbourhood. Dr Rashmi recalls that the Annapurna name continued to be associated with the area around the former hospital — a reminder of the institution her mother had built.
Dr Rashmi remembers her mother for her discipline, sincerity, perseverance, ethics, determination and confidence — qualities that would later influence her own approach to medicine and patient care.
Dr Annapurna’s work belonged to an earlier chapter in Gulbarga. Dr Rashmi’s medical career developed in Bangalore, where her growing focus on reproductive medicine gradually shaped the vision that would become Khushi.
Three years mark important stages in the development of Khushi: the opening of Dr Rashmi’s clinic in 2012, its development into a dedicated fertility centre in 2018, and the move to the present Bannerghatta Road centre in 2025
Khushi began in 2012 with Dr Rashmi Yogish’s fertility and women’s clinic in JP Nagar. These archival photographs show the clinic during its early years, as the foundation for Khushi’s dedicated fertility care began to take shape.
In 2018, Dr Rashmi chose to focus fully on Khushi and expanded the clinic into a dedicated fertility and IVF centre. This brought consultation, IUI, IVF, embryo transfer and fertility enhancing procedures into one focused setting.
In 2025, Khushi expanded into its present centre on Bannerghatta Road, bringing fertility care, women’s health, clinical facilities, wellness, research and learning together within a more integrated healthcare environment.
Khushi’s evolution has been about more than a larger centre or a broader range of services. It has also shaped how care is organised with greater coordination across fertility, women’s health, wellness, research and supporting specialties.
Care begins with understanding the patient’s clinical history, concerns and priorities before the next step is planned. This keeps evaluation and treatment decisions centred on individual needs.
As Khushi expanded, fertility care, women’s health, wellness and supporting specialties were brought into a more connected setting, helping patients move through care with greater continuity.
Khushi’s spaces and patient journey were designed to feel calm, clear and welcoming, while keeping clinical care at the centre of every visit.
Research, fellowship training, CMEs and seminars became part of Khushi’s wider academic work supporting continuous learning, knowledge-sharing and stronger clinical practice.
As her medical career developed, Dr Rashmi became increasingly drawn to fertility and reproductive medicine. She saw how deeply fertility challenges could affect women and families, and this shaped the kind of care she wanted to build.
Khushi began as Dr Rashmi’s own space to practise fertility care in the way she believed it should be done. As the clinic grew, she chose to give Khushi her full focus and build it around careful evaluation, clear communication and individual attention.
The name Khushi had a personal meaning for her long before the centre existed. She had once imagined using the name for her daughter because it meant happiness and even sounded close to Rashmi. As she recalls with a smile, “Khushi was born even before my daughter.”
